Several prisoners imprisoned for petty crimes have been released by the federal government ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In Faisalabad, 199 prisoners were released from all three jails in the city. Jail sources have said that 182 prisoners from District Jail, 14 from Central Jail and three inmates from Borstal Jail were released.
District and Sessions Court Judge Abid Hussain Qureshi paid a visit to District Jail in Kasur where he gave eid clothes and presents to women prisoners. He also ordered the release of 21 inmates involved in petty crimes.
