Britain’s Prince Andrew has come under renewed scrutiny after a media report cited unverified claims connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The claims have not been substantiated, and authorities have not confirmed their authenticity.
According to a report published on December 27 by The Sun, information received by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2020 alleged the existence of hidden recordings at one of Epstein’s properties in the Bahamas. The tip reportedly originated from an IP address traced to Norway. It remains unclear whether the recordings exist or whether investigators acted on the information.
The report said the message, described as an “FBI official record,” contained allegations referencing Prince Andrew. No evidence has emerged to support the claims, and no law enforcement agency has verified the document or its contents.

Prince Andrew, whose full name is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has repeatedly denied all allegations related to Epstein or his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. He has kept a low public profile in recent months as further Epstein-related materials, including previously disclosed emails, have circulated in the public domain.

The Duke of York, 65, lost his honorary military roles and royal patronages earlier this year amid ongoing fallout from the Epstein scandal. His brother, King Charles III, approved the removal as part of efforts to limit the monarchy’s exposure to the controversy.
Legal experts note that unverified claims circulating in the media do not constitute evidence and emphasise the importance of distinguishing between allegations and proven facts. Authorities have not announced any new investigations involving Prince Andrew in connection with the latest report.
