Karachi: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday claimed that a key accused involved in the murder of defunct Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq murder case has been arrested.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Nisar said the accused, identified as Moazzam Ali Khan, was arrested from Karachi. The accused provided financial and logistic support to the murderers, he added.

The interior minister said that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) will be constituted to interrogate the accused. Moazzam Ali Khan would be presented before the court, Nisar added.

He said the two persons who were being considered suspects in the murder case were ‘innocent’ and they visited Britain for the very first time.

“These two persons didn’t even have enough money to visit Britian,” Nisar added.

The interior minister said that the government is committed to bring the culprits of Imran Farooq murder case to justice.
