President Asif Ali Zardari tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation, his physician, Dr. Asim Hussain, confirmed on Wednesday. The announcement has raised concerns about the president’s health as he receives specialized medical attention.
In an interview with local news channel Geo News, Dr. Hussain shared that President Zardari is under the care of infectious disease experts at a private hospital in Karachi. “Due to his condition, all meetings with the president are strictly prohibited,” he stated. This precaution aims to protect both Zardari and those around him.
Dr. Hussain also noted that the president’s health is being closely monitored. “The medical team has conducted multiple tests and provided round-the-clock observation,” he explained. This ensures Zardari’s condition is managed effectively during his recovery.

President Zardari was recently moved to the Karachi hospital from Nawabshah after experiencing health issues. The shift allows him access to advanced medical facilities as he battles the virus.
However, conflicting reports have emerged. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon dismissed rumours about the president’s health deteriorating. In a statement, Memon said, “President Zardari’s condition is improving, and claims of him being transferred to Dubai for treatment are false.” He expressed confidence in Zardari’s full recovery soon.
The nation watches closely as the president remains in isolation. His medical team continues to prioritize his health while officials work to clarify his status amid mixed messages. Updates on President Zardari’s recovery are expected in the coming days.
