Pakistan Railways (PR) will unveil a new train schedule on March 15 and plans to run special trains for Eidul Fitr, anticipated on April 9.
Thursday’s announcement by the PR’s CEO revealed ongoing enhancements to the Mainline-I Track in the Sukkur Division. With Mainline-II services already back, additional trains will join as resources permit.
The PR aims to increase train numbers and ease engineering limits, though decisions on reinstating the Akbar Bugti Express remain pending. The revival of the Khushal Khan Khattak and Sandal Expresses hinges on resource availability.
A notable decrease in salary delays has uplifted staff morale, with plans for further reductions by boosting revenue.
The initiative to produce 230 new coaches is on schedule, with 46 already received from China and the remainder under domestic production.
Improvements are also highlighted in the newly launched broader-scope online application, which is expected to evolve.
The PR asserts that train seats are strictly for passengers, underscoring a commitment to enhancing traveller amenities.
