The opposition senators in Senate have made alliance to protest on Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) when it will be tabled in upper house of the Parliament.
Major opposition parties, including PPP, MQM, ANP and PML-Q, boycott the session after recording their protest in Senate. Opposition senators described PPO as ‘black law’ and violation of basic human rights.
PPO requires Senate’s approval otherwise it will expire on April 20, 214. The PPO was approved by President Mamnoon Hussain on October 20, 2013 and the National Assembly on April 7, 2014.
