The Powerball jackpot has surged to a staggering $1.7 billion just before the Christmas holiday. This record prize grew after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing, continuing an unprecedented jackpot run.
The winning numbers for the Monday, December 22, drawing were white balls 3, 18, 36, 41, 54, and red Powerball 7. The Power Play multiplier was 2. While there was no grand prize winner, lottery officials remind players to check their tickets. Many tickets won smaller, yet significant, cash prizes in the latest draw.
The next drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, December 24—Christmas Eve. This will mark the 47th consecutive drawing in the current cycle, setting a new Powerball record for the most draws without a jackpot winner. Historically, the Powerball has been won once on Christmas Eve (2011) and four times on Christmas Day itself.

The $1.7 billion prize ranks as the fourth-largest in U.S. lottery history. It trails the overall record of $2.04 billion, also set by Powerball in 2022.
If a player wins on Wednesday, they can choose between an annuity estimated at $1.7 billion and a lump-sum cash payment estimated at $781.3 million (before taxes).

Winning the jackpot requires matching all six numbers. The odds stand at 1 in 292.2 million. However, odds are better for the game’s nine lower-tier prizes, which start at $4.
The Powerball jackpot was last won on September 6, 2025. Two tickets, from Missouri and Texas, split a $1.787 billion prize.
