The voting for by-polls in NA-153 Jalalpur is underway peacefully and most of the polling stations drew considerable number of voters in Multan earlier today.
No untoward incident was reported till the filing of this report except some exchange of arguments among supporters of different candidates.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Deewan Ashiq was de-seated from the constituency after his degree was declared fake by the Supreme Court in January this year.
Aashiq had claimed to have done his Masters in political science from Shah Abdul Latif University Khaipur in 2005 but failed to provide documents to prove it.
All major political parties are flexing their candidates for the seat. Rana Qasim Noon from PML-N, Ghulam Abbas from PTI and Akram Kihoon from PPP are in the race for the seat along with 10 other candidates.
The polling began at 9:00 a.m will continue till 5:00 p.m.
