Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Sirajul Haq, who is leading a government’s political jirga to negotiate with PTI and PAT leadership, called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed demands made by the two protesting parties.
On Wednesday, the government committee held talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leaders and discussed ways to defuse the prevailing political crisis.
Today, the team held a meeting with PM and reportedly briefed him over the demands and so far progress in the negotiation process.
PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif and other were present in the meeting.
Sources said the PML-N leadership and jirga exchanged views over a possible agreement with PTI and PAT.
Sirajul Haq, who expressed hope to find a way out through negotiations, also presented his suggestions to the government to resolve the crisis, sources said.
