An investigation team earlier today, visited Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) to acquire the record of one of four alleged militants arrested in connection with bus attack in Karachi that killed 45 members of Ismaili community earlier this month as well as the murder of prominent civil rights activist. The arrest of the suspected attackers was disclosed by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at a press conference yesterday.

He claimed that the alleged killers – Mohammad Azhar Ishrat, Tahir Hussain Minhas, Saad Aziz, Haafiz Nasir alias Yasir – have confessed to killing people of Ismaili community in Safoora Goth carnage and murder of rights activist Sabeen Mahmud.
Today, a team of investigators visited Sir Syed university’s Administration Block, and collected Azhar Ishrat’s academic record. Sources said he had passed out from the university in 2001.
