A police constable has died from severe injuries, with over 70 officers wounded during violent clashes with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters in Islamabad.
Constable Mubashir, aged 46, succumbed to head injuries after an alleged attack by PTI protesters near Hakla. Emergency services rushed the critically injured officer to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Hassan Abdal, where he was later declared dead. Mubashir leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and a son.
During the same unrest, seventy other officers sustained injuries, including wounds to their heads, arms, and legs. Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved in the violence. “We are committed to bringing those responsible to justice,” a police spokesperson stated.
