Armed attackers opened fire on a police checkpost in Naushahro Feroze on Tuesday, killing two police officers. The assault occurred at the Bharyar Road Police Station checkpoint near the Tel River.

The attackers shot officers Saeed Solangi and Ghulam Hussain Rajpar while they were performing their duties. After the shooting, the assailants immediately fled the scene.

Following this attack, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar placed all provincial police on high alert. This decision also responds to Tuesday’s suicide blast in Islamabad that killed twelve people.

Minister Lanjar strongly condemned both attacks, stating that terrorists have no religion and represent enemies of humanity. Consequently, he ordered immediate security enhancements across Sindh.

Police have launched extensive search operations to locate the attackers. Meanwhile, security teams have strengthened surveillance at all provincial entry and exit points. Additionally, authorities have intensified monitoring along major highways and connecting roads. They are also focusing specifically on areas affected by crime and the urban outskirts.

The Home Minister has ordered stricter security checks at toll plazas throughout Sindh. Furthermore, he instructed officials to review and strengthen security plans for upcoming public events. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies will also improve their coordination. Therefore, these combined measures aim to prevent further attacks and ensure public safety.

This tragic attack highlights the continuing dangers that police officers face while protecting communities. The Sindh government remains committed to supporting security forces and maintaining public safety across the province
