The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday hearing seeking the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over Panama Papers leaks has advised Nawaz Sharif to file his response by October 10, 2016.

The  full bench  headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) retired Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan, took up the petitions.

PM Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer objected over ECP’s jurisdiction to hear the set of petitions against the PM.

The CEC accepted the objection and said in his remarks that the commission will first deliver its verdict on jurisdiction matter.

The hearing was later adjourned till Oct 10, directing the PM to file his response in the next hearing.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawyer Latif Khosa, while speaking to media persons outside the commission building alleged tha the government is dictating the commission.
