PML-N held a strong lead after the by-elections across 21 constituencies. In Punjab, elections spanned 14 seats, while Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contested fewer seats.
PML-N led in Punjab, barring Rahim Yar Khan. In Sindh, a PPP candidate led, while PTI candidates dominated two seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including NA-44, where Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur claimed victory.
Despite mobile and internet blackouts and military security, violence erupted, causing casualties and injuries in Punjab.
In Lahore and Kasur, NA-119 and NA-132 saw by-elections and 12 Punjab Assembly seats. Allegations of rigging and misconduct marred the process, with PTI citing manipulation at several stations.
PML-N’s Nawabzada Zareen Magsi triumphed in Lasbela, Balochistan, while violence and re-polling occurred in Qila Abdullah, demanding Election Commission intervention.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported peaceful polls with some disputes but lower voter turnout, particularly among women. Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur won NA-44 by a significant margin.
In Sindh, PPP’s Khursheed Ahmed Junejo led in Shahdadkot’s NA-196, reflecting preliminary results.
