Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that, “peace in Karachi will be restored at any cost and the ongoing operation will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist.”

The PM said this during an informal meeting, held at a PAF airbase in the mega city, earlier today, on the law and order situation in Karachi.

Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Information Minister Pervez Rashid, DG Rangers, IG Sindh and others were also present.

The meeting continued for an hour and DG Rangers and IG Sindh briefed the Premier on the law and order situation and Karachi operation. The PM was also briefed about the achievements made in Karachi operation.

PM Nawaz expressed satisfaction over the headway made in the Karachi operation, saying sacrifices rendered by security forces will not go waste. “People are happy over the Karachi operation and atmosphere of fear no more prevails in the city. Peace of Karachi will be restored fully.”

“Karachi operation will continue till restoration of complete peace and tranquility in the city of the Quaid,” he said.

He reiterated his resolve that facilitators of the terrorists would be eliminated from across the country. Security forces should complete investigations soon in the light of revelations made by arrested terrorists.

The federal government will extend full cooperation to provincial government for restoration of peace in Karachi.
