Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier today inaugurated the 393 kilometers Sukkur-Multan motorway in Sukkur.
The six-lane motorway will be completed with the financial assistance of China.
It is part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that is being executed to link Karachi with Peshawar through a network of motorways.
The motorway starting from Multan would pass through Jalalpur, Peerwala, Ahmed Pur, East Ubaro, Pano Aqil and end at Sukkur.
The project would comprise of 54 bridges including one major bridge on River Sutlej.
The motorway will have 12 service areas, 10 rest areas, 11 interchanges, 10 flyovers, and 426 underpasses.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Qaim Ali Shah received the Premier on his arrival at the Sukkur Airport.
