After a successful launch and a tremendous response from Karachi’s women, the Pink Bus Service will operate on two new routes in Karachi.
According to a statement released by the Sindh government on Tuesday, Sind’s Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced in a meeting chaired by him that the Pink Bus Service will operate on two new routes in Karachi from March 1.
The meeting was attended by Transport Secretary Abdul Haleem Sheikh, MD of Sindh Mass Transit Authority Zubair Chana, PDNRTC’s Sohaib Shafiq, and Operations Manager Abdul Shakoor.
In addition, it was disclosed that beginning tomorrow, the Pink Bus Service’s fleet traveling from Model Colony to Tower Route-1 would be enhanced.
The two new routes for the women-only bus service are routes 2 and 10 from Numaish Chowrangi to the Sea View clock tower.
Memon tweeted about the breaking news, stating that the Pink Bus Service would provide more amenities for “safe and better travel” for the women of Karachi.
Route-2 will travel to Power Chowrangi, North Karachi, Indus Hospital Korangi, Nagan Chowrangi, Johar Mour, COD, Drig Road, Shahrah e Faisal, Shah Faisal colony, Singer Chowrangi, and Korangi No. 5.
He announced through Twitter that Route 10 would travel to Numaish Chowrangi, M A Jinnah Road, Zaibunissa Street, Metropol, Do Talwar, Teen Talwar, Mazar e Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Dolman Mall, and Sea View Clock Tower.
During the conference, Memon also instructed the NRTC to operate the People’s Bus Service to Hawke’s Bay Road.
He suggested surveying new routes for the People’s Bus Service of Karachi. “I also want more new People’s Electric Bus Service lines to be implemented immediately,” he continued.
