Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has made a major return to the United Kingdom as PIA resumes London flights after a six-year suspension, marking a key step for Pakistan’s international travel network.
According to the airline, the first UK-bound service, flight PK-785, departed from Islamabad for London with 325 passengers on board. Senior officials attended the departure, including the Secretary of Defence and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, who saw off the inaugural flight at Islamabad Airport.
A brief ceremony marked the relaunch, where officials cut a cake and distributed gifts to passengers. In a special giveaway, one lucky traveller won a 660cc car through a raffle draw.
The Chairman of the PIA Consortium, Arif Habib, and other senior representatives were also present, underscoring the importance of restoring PIA London flight operations.

PIA plans to gradually expand its Pakistan International Airlines UK flight schedule. According to the airline’s spokesperson, flights from Lahore to London will begin on March 30. In total, PIA will operate 4 weekly flights to London, 3 from Islamabad and 1 from Lahore.
The resumption is expected to strengthen air links between Pakistan and the UK and offer more convenience to passengers travelling for work, study and family visits.
