Customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport intercepted a PIA air hostess attempting to smuggle foreign currency.
The air hostess, Asia Qurban, was offloaded from a flight departing from Lahore to an international destination after arousing suspicion.
A thorough search revealed that she had concealed 140,000 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to 37,318 US Dollars, on various parts of her body.
Following the discovery, the air hostess was offloaded from the Dubai-bound flight. After a case was registered, she was handed over to the Immigration and Passport (I&P) authorities.
The recovered currency, totalling 140,000 Saudi Riyals, amounts to 37,317 US Dollars.
