The Sindh High Court has transferred the petition disputing Asifa Bhutto’s electoral victory to its Hyderabad bench, with the hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
The petition, initiated by Ghulam Mustafa Rand, a candidate from Tehreek-e-Insaf, contests the legality of Asifa Bhutto’s success.
The petition argues that the disqualification of all opposing candidates from the People’s Party was unjust, thereby paving the way for Bhutto’s contested victory. Ghulam Mustafa Rand has highlighted several grievances, including an alleged wrongful declaration of his status as a defaulter in his village, which lacks electricity.
Additionally, he claims that he was arrested by police when attempting to obtain an electricity bill.
In light of these allegations, Ghulam Mustafa Rand has appealed to the court to annul Asifa Bhutto’s victory and to mandate a re-election in the constituency.
