In Peshawar, residents took drastic measures to address severe unannounced load shedding by storming a local grid station and restoring electricity.

The crowd, led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fazal Elahi, entered the grid station and took control of the power operations. Fazal Elahi and the community members turned on all the feeders, successfully restoring electricity to the entire area.

Peshawar residents’ bold move was a response to prolonged power outages that had left the residents frustrated and desperate. The intervention highlights the growing discontent among the public regarding the ongoing load-shedding issues.
