Late Friday night, Peshawar police successfully intercepted a potential terrorist strike targeted at the Sarband Riyaz checkpoint.
An official from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police force reported that the officers had intercepted 8 terrorists at Sarband Riaz Shaheed police station and foiled an attack. The assailants escaped after the officers fired back.
Following the terror way in the province, the police were already on high alert, promptly responded, opening fire and forcing the insurgents to retreat.
Recent Terror Attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
On Thursday terrorist attack at a police station in Bara market, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), led to three police officers losing their lives while four others suffered injuries.
The deadly episode began with an explosion at the bustling Bara market, followed by intense gunfire near the local police station.
Earlier this month, a similar terrorist assault was launched on law enforcement personnel in Gomal Bazar, Tank, also located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this instance, a group of heavily armed terrorists opened fire on police officials. The police force, however, managed to repel the attack effectively, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.
