The auction of “Personalised Marks Choice” vehicle registration plates drew strong public interest at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar, as bidders pushed several premium numbers to record prices.
The standout sale of the event came with “Wazeer 1,” which topped the auction after attracting a winning bid of Rs15 million, making it the most expensive plate of the day.
Another highly sought-after plate, “Afridi 1,” sold for more than Rs14 million. It was purchased by Javed Afridi, owner of the Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi.
The plate “Khan 1” ranked third in value, fetching over Rs11 million. Provincial lawmaker Naik Muhammad Khan secured the number after competitive bidding.

Several other plates also commanded strong prices. “Peshawar 1” sold for Rs10 million, while “Haripur 1” achieved a bid of Rs8 million.
Plates linked to prominent regional names also performed well. “Yousafzai 1” sold for Rs4.92 million, and “Durrani 1” reached Rs1.66 million.
Meanwhile, “Malakand 1” fetched Rs1.25 million, and “Swabi 1” closed at Rs1.2 million, reflecting sustained demand across categories.

Officials confirmed that additional auctions will take place through an online e-bidding system in the coming days, a move expected to broaden participation and maintain momentum.
The strong turnout and high bids underline growing public enthusiasm for customised vehicle registration plates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
