The Peshawar High Court has issued an order preventing the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with multiple cases filed against him.
In a detailed written decision, the court declared that Ali Amin Gandapur should not be subjected to harassment or arrest related to any of the cases. The Chief Minister is named in 17 FIRs (First Information Reports) filed in Islamabad.
The court’s decision also highlighted that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have indicated they do not plan to arrest Gandapur. His legal representation brought to the court’s attention additional cases registered in Punjab, which were part of the proceedings.
The court acknowledged that Gandapur does not possess detailed information about the cases filed in Punjab, which poses a potential risk of arrest. Consequently, Ali Amin Gandapur has been granted 30 days to obtain further details and may approach the relevant legal forum if necessary.
Following these deliberations, the Peshawar High Court has closed the petition.
