Unidentified gunmen mowed down a Peace Committee member and General Councilor Ghulam Saeed in Nangoli area of tehsil Kabal of Swat.
Police said, the assailants targeted Saeed when he was returning home after Isha prayers earlier yesterday night. The miscreants managed to flee.
The body was shifted to central hospital of Saidu Sharif for postmortem.
Police have lodged a case started further investigation.
Security forces launched search operation after the killing of Saeed, however, the accused was still at large.
