In a notable turn of events, during the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) protest, the JUIF workers took decisive action. They successfully managed to open the entrance gate of the highly secure #RedZone, granting them unauthorized access.
The ruling PDM has mobilized for a Monday demonstration outside the Supreme Court from 1 pm to 2 pm in response to what they view as “unfair relief” granted to PTI Chairman Imran Khan by the judiciary.
Supporters and members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have already descended on the capital city, some venturing into the Red Zone despite the ongoing enforcement of Section 144 in the federal capital.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of PDM, a governing alliance of 13 political entities, declared plans for the Supreme Court sit-in on Friday, criticizing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial for his perceived support of Khan.
Following the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) provision of two-week interim bail to PTI leader Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case, the PDM announced its intent to protest in front of the Supreme Court over its “biased conduct.”
“We’ve resolved to protest against this conduct. As a representative of the PDM, I urge the nation to join us in Islamabad on Monday. We will stage a large-scale sit-in protest,” Fazl proclaimed during a press conference in Islamabad.
Fazl, also the leader of JUI-F, insisted that every party member would join in the protest and no one would stay behind.
“We will retaliate with clubs, slaps, and punches if necessary, should anyone attempt to stop us,” he warned.
Fazl suggested that instead of seeking to eradicate crime, the courts were shielding the guilty, going as far as to say that the Supreme Court protected someone implicated in an Rs60 billion embezzlement case
