The Pakistan Cricket Board has shortlisted 10 bidders for the auction of two new HBL Pakistan Super League franchise teams.
In a statement posted on X, the PCB said its Bid Committee completed the technical evaluation of proposals submitted by interested parties worldwide.
The board received 12 proposals for the two new franchises. After a detailed and transparent review, the Bid Committee approved 10 bidders who met the required technical criteria.
These shortlisted bidders have now advanced to the second phase of the process. The qualified bidders will participate in the auction on January 8, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

Successful bidders will have the option to select franchise team names from the following cities: Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot. HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer welcomed the strong investor response.
“The HBL PSL congratulates all qualified bidders and appreciates the robust interest shown by both local and international investors,” he said.

He also thanked parties that were unable to submit proposals before the deadline and reaffirmed the league’s commitment to expansion. “The league now looks forward to another major milestone as preparations begin for the eagerly awaited auction,” Naseer added.
The addition of two new franchises marks a significant step in the continued growth of the HBL PSL, which aims to expand its footprint, commercial value, and regional representation in the coming seasons.
