PCB has indefinitely postponed the National Under-19 Three-Day Championship and the U19 One-Day Cup as the competitions were about to start.
PCB issued a statement mentioning “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason for the postponement.
This decision was made following the conclusion of the first day of play in the three-day format. Today’s results will not be counted in the official records, and the tournament will be rescheduled on a new date.
The championships involved 18 regional teams from 16 regions competing in both formats. Defending champions Peshawar were ready to participate in the three-day event, and Karachi Whites were the reigning champions of the U19 One-Day Cup.
Simultaneously, the Pakistan men’s U19 cricket team is preparing for a 50-over tri-series with Afghanistan and the host, United Arab Emirates (UAE), scheduled from November 13 to 26.
This tri-series, which adopts a double-league format, will kick off with Pakistan facing the UAE. The top two teams will progress to the final on November 26.
This event is a crucial preparatory phase for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024. It provides a pivotal opportunity for the teams to finalize strategies and sharpen their skills before the major tournament.
The ACC will release details regarding the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup in the coming days.
