The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the official anthem for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, heralding the upcoming tournament with a vibrant musical tribute.
Titled ‘Sadi Vari Oye’, the anthem features the vocal talents of celebrated singers Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, and Nehal Naseem. PCB described the anthem as a homage to the unwavering support of their fans. “This anthem is a tribute to our fans who cheer for the Pakistan team through every triumph and challenge,” stated PCB in a press release. They further encouraged unity and celebration: “Let’s unite, celebrate, and fuel our team’s journey to conquer the world.”
Khayal Films led the anthem production, with Sumair Tariq as the Executive Producer and Merium Yousaf as the Senior Producer. The creative team included Syeda Maryam as the Creative Producer and Asrar Alam, who also penned the lyrics, as the Creative Director.
Farhan Zameer, the Music Producer, collaborated with Tehseen W. Chishty, Nehaal Naseem, Arif Lohar, and Khwaja Faheem in songwriting, with additional contributions from Zameer, Faheem, and Chishty. Ali Azmat and Zain Butt played the guitars. Farhan Zameer arranged, mixed, and mastered the anthem at Grammophon Studio.
Babar Sheikh directed the anthem’s video, with cinematography by Salaar Khan Yousufzai and Abu Bakar. Taha Karim and Taimoor Khan served as Associate Directors.
The anthem’s release coincides with the start of the T20 World Cup 2024, which kicks off today with an opening match between the United States and Canada. On June 06, Pakistan will play its debut match against the USA in Dallas.
