The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Monday that ticket sales for the upcoming Champions Trophy in Pakistan will commence on Tuesday, despite the renovated stadiums.
The host cities of Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi are racing to meet the January 30 deadline for the ICC handover, with the tournament set to kick off on February 19 across Pakistan and Dubai.
The Champions Trophy edition signifies a notable occasion as it brings competitive international matches back to Pakistan, alongside games in Dubai where the Indian team will participate, with match details to be announced soon.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dispelled rumours that the tournament might relocate due to delays at the venues, which include Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, and Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. The presence of an ICC delegation in Pakistan underscores the commitment to proceed as planned.
Ticket pricing has been set with the minimum for standard seats at PKR 1000 (around Rs 310) and premium seats beginning at PKR 1500 (approximately Rs 465). Tickets for the grand finale on March 9 will go on sale after the first semi-final match in Dubai.
Anurag Dahiya, ICC Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the milestone, highlighting the importance of Pakistan hosting its first major global cricket event since 1996. To purchase tickets, fans must register on the ICC’s official website, marking a pivotal moment for cricket enthusiasts and the sport in Pakistan.
