The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the third qualified bidder for the auction of two new Pakistan Super League franchises. Preparations intensify for the league’s 11th edition.
In an official social media post on Monday, the PCB confirmed VGO TEL Mobile as Bidder No. 3. “The excitement is building. VGO TEL Mobile confirmed as Bidder [No.3] for the HBL PSL Teams Auction,” the board said.
The franchise auction will take place on Thursday at the Jinnah Convention Centre. The upcoming PSL season runs from March 26 to May 3.
The PCB previously revealed the first and second qualified bidders, building anticipation for this landmark league event. The PSL will expand from six to eight teams, and the board has completed technical evaluations of proposals from interested parties.

Among the confirmed bidders is the Tareen Group, led by businessman Ali Khan Tareen. Tareen previously owned the Multan Sultans, acquiring the team in 2018. He guided it to sustained success, including a PSL title in 2021 and several finals appearances.
However, Tareen’s relationship with the PCB later deteriorated over franchise renewal terms and governance concerns. He was the only owner not offered a 10-year extension. The dispute escalated after the board issued a legal notice alleging violations of the contract. Tareen announced his exit in late 2025, effective at year-end. This cleared the way for him to re-enter the bidding process.

Karachi-based VGO TEL, led by Chief Executive Officer Naveed Gaba, has now formally joined the race for one of the new franchises.
The PCB confirms that successful bidders can later select a home city from an approved list, which includes Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit. This expansion will broaden the league’s reach and strengthen its national footprint.
