Roman Reigns, WWE’s Original Tribal Chief, experienced a shocking betrayal from his longtime manager, Paul Heyman, during a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 41. Heyman turned against Reigns, costing him the match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins.
The dramatic twist resulted in Reigns being absent from television for three months. During that time, both The Visionary and Bron Breakker attacked him on RAW. Reigns made his return on this week’s RAW, signalling his intention to confront Heyman.
Rumours indicated that Reigns stepped away to welcome his sixth child, but he and his wife, Galina Becker, denied this. Reigns confirmed his plans to address Heyman soon, setting up an epic face-off.
In a Metro interview, Heyman described his actions by stating, “I never think short-term; I always think long-term. To me, Roman Reigns and I had achieved everything we could. It was time for Seth Rollins to elevate himself and be recognised as the greatest in-ring performer of this generation, or any other.”

Heyman added: “The moment I laid the law down to Roman Reigns and CM Punk and handed the chair to Seth Rollins, the first thing that popped into my head was, Wow, this is an all-time WrestleMania moment. And now we’re going to have to top it.”
On his philosophy for partners like Brock Lesnar and Reigns: “[There is] a common denominator in anyone that I’ve had the privilege of working with closely – be it Brock Lesnar, be it CM Punk, be it Roman Reigns, be it Seth Rollins, be it Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker. They rise to the occasion. They respond to the pressure, and it creates an environment in which they give you an even greater performance.”
Fans anticipate high drama when Reigns and Heyman reunite. This storyline adds layers to Reigns’ character arc post-loss.
