Pakistan’s five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) as hleft for India earlier today to investigate deadly Jan. 2016 Pathankot terror attack.
The team, which is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi through a special aircraft, will be allowed to question witnesses of the attack, sources said.
The five-member delegation comprises Chief of Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Additional Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir Rai, Lahore’s Deputy Director General Intelligence Bureau Mohammad Azim Arshad, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Col Tanvir Ahmed, Military Intelligence Lt Col Irfan Mirza and Gujaranwala CTD Investigating Officer Shahid Tanveer.
Media reports said the team will also be allowed to quiz 17 people who were injured in the attack; however, Indian security personnel will not be interrogated.
This is the first time that a Pakistani investigation team is travelling to India to investigate a terror attack.
