The requirement for a specific address on identification cards for passport issuance has been removed, enabling Pakistani citizens to apply for passports from any city within the country.
The significant policy shift has been formally incorporated into the passport regulations, and official notifications have been dispatched to all regional offices.
The updated guidelines facilitate greater flexibility for citizens, eliminating previous constraints tied to the address listed on identification cards. This change aims to alleviate challenges that citizens faced under the old system, which often tied them to specific jurisdictions based on their registered addresses.
