Paola Salcedo, presenter and sister of footballer Carlos Salcedo, was tragically killed during an attempted robbery outside a circus in Huixquilucan, Mexico.
The State of Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office confirmed the death of the 29-year-old, who was also a presenter and model known for her work on the program ‘Lideres del Rebano.’
Investigators believe Paola Salcedo’s death resulted from an attempted robbery. The municipal government of Huixquilucan reported that emergency services received a call about a woman being attacked by a van in the El Arenal neighbourhood.
Witnesses stated that Salcedo had exited the Bardum circus to take a phone call when she approached a white van and was shot by assailants from another vehicle, who then fled the scene.
Journalist Carlos Jimenez noted that Paola Salcedo was alive when she arrived at the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. Paola is survived by a son from a previous relationship with Uruguayan goalkeeper Nicolas Vikonis.
Carlos Salcedo, her brother, is a well-known footballer with international experience, having played for clubs like Real Salt Lake, Fiorentina, and Eintracht Frankfurt, and currently represents Cruz Azul in Liga MX.
