Pakistan’s sports shooter, Kishmala Talat, has achieved an impressive 5th position in the annual Asian Shooting rankings, as released by the Asian Shooting Confederation.
Kishmala Tala’s performances at the year’s close highlight exceptional talent in the women’s 10-metre air pistol shooting category. Accumulating 2,505 rating points, Kishmala secured a spot among the top five shooters and emerged as the highest-ranked Pakistani shooter across all categories for the year 2023.
Kishmala’s ascent in the rankings marks a significant journey from the previous year (2022), where she was not ranked. Her notable achievements include winning a bronze medal for Pakistan in the 2023 Asian Games in the women’s 10m air pistol event.
Kishmala Tala’s skills were also prominently displayed in prestigious competitions such as the World Championships and Asian Championships, further establishing her as a promising talent in sports shooting. Kishmala also showcased her versatility by securing the 15th position in the women’s 25m air pistol category.
Other Pakistani Athletes in the Rankings
The Asian Shooting rankings also feature other notable Pakistani athletes. GM Bashir ranked 8th in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol category, illustrating his proficiency in the sport.
Usman Chand claimed the 10th position in men’s skeet, demonstrating his competitive edge. Additionally, Gulfam Joseph secured the 14th position in the men’s 10m air pistol rankings, further highlighting the presence of Pakistani talent in sports shooting. These rankings underscore the growing prominence of Pakistani athletes in the international shooting arena.
