Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry confirmed on Friday that the Government of Pakistan has taken formal diplomatic steps by writing to the United Kingdom over what it describes as inciteful social media activity.
During an interview with Geo News, Chaudhry pointed to a video circulating online that shows a woman making violent remarks and allegedly wishing death on an unnamed person in a car bombing. The footage shows her standing among individuals holding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) flags
Responding to questions about the video, Chaudhry said Pakistan expects British authorities to act in accordance with their own legal framework. He stated that Islamabad has formally written to London, urging action in line with UK law and the UK justice system.

The minister said the government has serious concerns over threats allegedly directed at Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces. According to the government, the threats originated from individuals based in the UK, prompting a formal request for legal action.
Official sources said Pakistan’s letter conveys strong reservations about social media activity linked to PTI supporters in the UK. The communication refers to a video allegedly showing protesters issuing direct death threats against a serving Field Marshal.
Islamabad has requested that the individuals involved be identified and prosecuted under British law. The letter also raises concerns over the alleged misuse of UK territory to incite violence against Pakistani officials.
