The Pakistan westerly weather system is set to enter the country’s western regions on Tuesday, bringing rain, strong winds, and snowfall to several areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The PMD said the system will begin affecting western Pakistan on Wednesday and spread to the upper regions. As a result, changing weather conditions are expected across multiple provinces.
In Karachi, the Met Office has forecast partly cloudy conditions. Light rain or drizzle is possible at isolated locations, while wind speeds are likely to increase.
Similarly, other coastal areas of Sindh may also experience light rain or drizzle. These areas include Badin and Thatta, where residents can expect brief changes in weather.
Meanwhile, the PMD has warned of rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms across Balochistan and the upper parts of the country. Snowfall is also expected over hilly regions as the system moves northward.

Parts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. These conditions are expected between the night of February 8 and the night of February 10.
According to the forecast, widespread rain and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills are likely in many districts of Balochistan. These districts include Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, and Zhob.
In addition, areas such as Chaghi, Noshki, Harnai, Kalat, Mastung, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, Khuzdar, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, and Awaran may also be affected on February 8 and 9.
The PMD has advised residents to remain cautious during the next two days. In particular, people living in areas prone to strong winds and thunderstorms should take preventive measures.
According to Radio Pakistan, cold and dry weather will prevail across most of the country over the next 12 hours. However, very cold conditions are expected in hilly regions.

Despite this, partly cloudy to cloudy weather with light rain and light snowfall is likely at isolated places in northern and western Balochistan.
The PMD also shared temperature readings recorded in major cities on Sunday morning. Islamabad recorded 5°C, while Lahore stood at 11°C.
Karachi recorded 16°C, whereas Peshawar and Gilgit both stood at 7°C. Quetta recorded 1°C, while Murree reached the freezing point at 0°C.

Muzaffarabad recorded a temperature of 6°C. These readings highlight the colder conditions currently prevailing across the country.
As the westerly system progresses, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. Residents are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins.
