As part of the World Test Championship, this series is vital for the rankings of both teams. Pakistan seeks to capitalise on its recent performances, while England, led by Ben Stokes, continues to be a strong team on home soil. The PCB highlighted, “This tour reinforces the historic cricketing relationship between the two nations.”
Saud Shakeel leads the Pakistan Shaheens in England for a 50-over and three-day series. The tour prepares the team for the 2026 Test series against England. The squad includes Test players Mir Hamza, Musa Khan, and Sajid Khan. However, a thumb fracture sidelines Sajid. This series hones skills for the World Test Championship matches.
Pakistan’s last tour of England in 2020 featured competitive matches, with the team aiming to improve its away record. The 2026 series offers a chance to challenge England’s dominance at home.
