Pakistan faced a challenging start in the first T20I against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on July 20, 2025. After losing the toss, the visitors chose to bat first but were bowled out for just 110 runs in 19.3 overs.

Fakhar Zaman was the standout performer for Pakistan, scoring 44 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack. Taskin Ahmed was particularly effective, taking three wickets, and Mustafizur Rahman contributed with two. This low total set Bangladesh a modest target, putting pressure on Pakistan’s bowlers to defend it successfully.

Fakhar Zaman top-scores with 44 as Pakistan are all out for 110 in the first innings.

Pakistan started poorly after Saim Ayub fell to Taskin Ahmed for just 6 runs. Mohammad Haris joined Fakhar Zaman but departed for 4, caught off Mahedi Hasan, leaving the score at 32/2 in three overs.

Captain Salman Agha scored 3 before Tanzim Hasan Shakib dismissed him. Mohammad Nawaz managed a duck, removed by Mustafizur Rahman, reducing Pakistan to 46/5 in 7.4 overs after another run-out.

Fakhar Zaman anchored the innings with 44 but was run out in the 12th over. Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi built a 33-run partnership, pushing the score to 103/7 in 16.2 overs before Shah fell for 17 to Mustafizur Rahman.

Taskin Ahmed claimed Faheem Ashraf for 5, Salman Mirza was run out for a duck, and Abbas Afridi (22) was the last to fall, ending the innings at 110.

Bangladesh’s bowlers excelled: Taskin Ahmed (3 wickets), Mustafizur Rahman (2), Mahedi Hasan (1), and Tanzim Hasan Shakib (1).
