In the Pakistan vs UAE Asia Cup 2025 encounter, Pakistan secured a convincing 41-run win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their Asia Cup Group A clash at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s all-round performance earned him Man of the Match honours, propelling Pakistan into the Super Four alongside India. The match started an hour late due to earlier tension,s but ended in celebration for the Green Shirts

Batting first, Pakistan slumped to 110/7 in 17 overs despite a 61-run stand between Fakhar Zaman (half-century) and captain Salman Agha. In this Pakistan vs UAE clash, Shaheen’s explosive 29 off 14 balls lifted the total to 146/9 in 20 overs. UAE struggled in the chase, managing only 105 all out, with Rahul Chopra (35) and Dhruv Parashar (20) offering resistance.

Shaheen starred with the ball, taking 2/16 to dismantle the UAE’s middle order. His quickfire batting and economical spell sealed the victory. Pakistan’s bowlers restricted the UAE, ensuring a comfortable win. The result confirms Pakistan’s Super Four spot, setting up a rematch with India on Sunday.

Pycroft Apology and Match Delay

The game was delayed by an hour amid PCB’s protest over referee Andy Pycroft’s role in the India handshake row. Pycroft apologised to Pakistan’s captain and manager for a “miscommunication” at the toss, where he allegedly barred handshakes. The ICC retained him as referee, but the apology allowed the match to proceed. In the context of the Pakistan vs UAE Asia Cup 2025 game, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the team’s participation after high-level talks.
