Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to announce its squads for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia next week, with Mohammad Rizwan being considered for the captaincy role.
Sources suggest that the selection committee supports Rizwan for leadership, but PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who will consult with selectors and other officials, will make the final decision.
Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain is poised for a return to the One-Day International (ODI) scene after his impressive performances in the recent Champions Cup and President’s Cup. Additionally, all-rounder Aamir Jamal and wicketkeeper-batsman Haseebullah are being considered for the squad.
The series itinerary includes the second ODI on November 8 at Adelaide Oval and the third on November 10 at Perth Stadium. Following the ODI matches, Pakistan will compete in three T20 matches against Australia from November 14 to 18. The T20 matches will occur at The Gabba, Brisbane, on November 14; SCG, Sydney, on November 16; and at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on November 18.
