Pakistan has formalized the protocols for exporting donkey meat and hides to China. Senator Anusha Rahman, chair of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Commerce, led the session that established regulations for Pakistan’s donkey exports.
The meeting, which included key figures from the Ministry of Commerce, focused on setting guidelines for current and future Pakistan’s donkey exports to China.
Additional Secretary Ahsan Ali Mangi delivered a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s donkey exports during the meeting. He confirmed that the team had finalized the export protocols for donkey hides. He mentioned that although current exports focus on hides, there might be an opportunity to include whole donkeys.

The conversation also covered the by-products of hide exports, such as meat. Mangi clarified that there are no current restrictions on exporting donkey meat to China, and the ministry is actively working to include it on the export list officially.
Furthermore, the team finalized protocols for exporting key agricultural products like potatoes, onions, and peppers to China.
