Pakistan needed 90 runs to win the first Test after they bowled Sri Lanka for 206 in their second innings just before tea on the fifth day in Galle on Sunday.
Leg-spinner Yasir Shah finished with a career-best seven for 76 as the hosts folded up in 77.1 overs after starting the day at 63-2.
Pakistan have the entire post-tea session to get the runs and take the lead in the three-match series. (AFP)
