The Pakistani government is set to engage with the new US administration to seek a waiver for sanctions on the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project.

Sources indicate that Pakistan is seeking an exemption to mitigate potential economic repercussions.

Emphasizing the project’s significance for securing affordable energy, the government must discuss this issue with the new US administration. The imposition of sanctions has introduced complications, necessitating careful negotiations by Pakistan to avoid exacerbating the situation.

Authorities are working to obtain an exemption allowing the project to continue without breaching US restrictions. Although Pakistan has not directly caused any delays, the sanctions have significantly hindered progress.
