Education authorities across Pakistan have implemented new winter policies for schools, including relaxed uniform requirements and scheduled vacation periods. These measures aim to prioritise student comfort during colder months while maintaining educational continuity.
Sindh’s Flexible Winter Attire Policy
The Directorate of Private Institutions in Sindh has prohibited private schools from enforcing specific jacket colors or designs. Students may now wear winter jackets of their choice, with school administrations barred from compelling adherence to particular dress codes.
Education Minister Sardar Shah emphasized that student comfort represents the government’s highest priority. Schools violating this directive will face strict disciplinary action from educational authorities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Winter Guidelines
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has issued similar flexibility for winter attire. Students throughout the province may wear sweaters and gloves in any color while maintaining their standard school uniforms.

Provincial Winter Vacation Schedules
Balochistan has announced an extended winter break for colder regions beginning December 16. Schools will remain closed for two and a half months, reopening March 1, 2026. Junior class examinations continue through November 24 during this period.
Punjab will observe winter vacations from December 23, 2025, to January 12, 2026, with all institutions reopening January 13. Both government and private schools must follow this uniform schedule throughout the province.
These coordinated measures demonstrate provincial education departments’ commitment to balancing student welfare with academic requirements during Pakistan’s winter season.
