Pakistan received worker remittances totalling $3.4 billion in October 2025, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This represents a strong 12% increase compared to the same month last year.
The central bank’s figures also show a 7% increase from the previous month. The cumulative inflow for the first four months of the current fiscal year (July-October) reached $13 billion.
The remittances in October were primarily sourced from several key countries. Saudi Arabia was the largest contributor, sending $820.9 million. The United Arab Emirates followed with $697.7 million.

Other significant sources included the United Kingdom, at $487.7 million, and the United States, at $290 million.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised overseas Pakistanis for their continued contributions to the country. He stated that the consistent rise in remittances reflects their trust in the government’s policies.

The Prime Minister described overseas Pakistanis as invaluable assets to the nation. He expressed hope that the positive trend would continue, helping to stabilise Pakistan’s external account and strengthen its foreign exchange reserves.
