Pakistan Railways’ Karachi Division revenue FY 2016-17 has increased by 29 percent additional as compared to the financial year 2015-16.

According to the Division Commercial Officer (DCO) Karachi, Nasir Nazeer and General Manager Pakistan Railways, Javed Anwar, the revenue has increased  by 29 percent FY 2016-17.

They had appreciated the staff who are also likely to get cash incentives in return for performing exceptionally well in the year 2015-16.

Nasir Nazer pointed out that the revenue target for Railways’ Karachi Division during the fiscal year 2015-16 was set at Rs 12.72 million; however, the earning during the aforementioned period remained at Rs 15.84 billion with a rise of 29 per cent.

Nazeer was of the view that better employee performance and on-time operations of the railways helped in achieving the beyond expected targets.

Meanwhile, streamlining the freight trains also assisted in improving the revenue, he added.

Nazeer was hopeful that Karachi division would be able to earn additional revenues in the fiscal year 2016-17 as well for which the target would be set soon.
