Pakistan passport office timings have been revised as the government rolls out national austerity measures and a fuel-saving policy. Under the new schedule, passport offices across the country will operate on a four-day workweek.
According to an official circular, offices of the Department of Immigration and Passports will remain open from Monday to Thursday. They will stay closed from Friday to Sunday.
The revised schedule has been introduced as part of the government’s wider fuel-saving measures. Officials said the change was approved by the Director General of Immigration and Passports.
The updated timetable applies to passport offices nationwide. However, some services will continue without interruption under the existing system.
Which Passport Services Will Remain Unchanged
Regional passport offices that operate 24 hours a day will continue their services as usual. This means their round-the-clock operations will not be affected by the new weekly schedule.
In addition, the shift system at Swift Service Centres will remain unchanged. Authorities said this step is meant to ensure routine operations continue smoothly.

The new arrangement means people planning to visit regular passport offices will need to do so between Monday and Thursday. Since offices will now remain closed for three days each week, visitors may need to plan their trips more carefully.
At the same time, those using 24-hour regional offices or Swift Service Centres can expect services to continue under the existing setup.
