Security sources reported that Pakistan’s military conducted extensive exercises on May 2, 2025, showcasing combat readiness and advanced weaponry in response to escalating tensions with India.
The live-fire drills, involving multiple units, followed Pakistan’s retaliatory strike on May 1, which destroyed an Indian checkpost in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir after alleged unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control in the Kiani and Mandal sectors. Sources claimed that the strikes neutralised positions, including the Chakputra post, though India has not confirmed these reports.
